Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten Video Lesson:
Kindergarten Video Lesson:
1st Grade Video Lesson
2nd Grade Lesson:
This week, we are continuing our musical story of Peter and the Wolf! You will need the graphic organizer you started last week, and something to write with.
3rd Grade Lesson:
Spend the day finding the most unique sounds in your living space. Walk around the area, playing or creating sounds with everything in sight and/or hidden. Compare and contrast each sound you find and decide what makes the sound you are playing more unique than the others. Describe (either aloud or in written form) why the sound is different and what you like about it (its timbre).
When you have found 5 unique sounds, list or draw the object and then draw the sound it creates. Create a name for the sound that is a new word. This could be a combination of words or it might be onomatopoetic combinations (example: whirchuggle). Or something totally unique!
Create a sound museum. Draw or take a picture of the sound and label the object with its new sound word. Place these on display - like in a museum. Maybe the ‘whirchuggle’ was once called a toilet. Can you imagine if some of the objects in the world were named not by what they do or are, but rather by the sound they create! Send me a picture or video of your creations!
