Welcome Back

We are just under two weeks until our school year begins on August 27. Ironically, I have been in the principal role at St. Felix Catholic School for the same amount of time. I want to thank the communities of St. Felix and St. Agnes along with the community of Wabasha for their warm welcome. I am reminded of the readings the last couple of weeks where Jesus is asking Peter to trust him and walk on the water. When Peter keeps his eyes on Jesus, he can walk on the water. However, when he loses his focus, his human nature creates fear and anxiety. We need to have faith and trust in our God which can only be possible when we have a relationship with him. Our mission at St. Felix Catholic School is that we are Catholic, Christ centered school dedicated to lifelong learning where students are encouraged to develop spiritually, academically, socially, and morally.
Our God’s Kids summer program will be wrapping up this week on Friday August 14. We had 25 students enrolled in the summer program. Thanks to Brittany Logan for heading this program up and all the staff who assisted in supervision. We also want to give a shout out to Willard for getting our school ready for the new school year as he has been cleaning, mopping, waxing, and organizing. Faculty are beginning to get ready for the school year and are going to the Diocesan Retreat on Thursday at Lourdes High School in Rochester. We are excited for our new reading curriculum that we will be implementing this upcoming school year. Teachers will be receiving an in-service on this new reading curriculum on August 18.
