Eric Sonnek, Principal

My family and I are very excited to join the Wabasha-Kellogg community! It’s been only a short time and we feel so welcomed. Thank you to those who have brought us dinner, introduced yourselves, told us “Welcome to Wabasha!” We feel so blessed.

For the past year, my wife and I have been discerning about our future. We lived in St. Louis Park, just west of Minneapolis. And while we loved that community, we were ready for something more. And less. More barbecues, less traffic. More time with our kids (James, 5, Ada, 3, and Olive, 1), less noise. Growing up on a farm in a small town 140 miles west of here, I wanted to get back to my roots. And my wife, a city girl, was up for the adventure.

I feel so blessed to be a part of a school like St. Felix. It’s rare that you find a community like this one, so rooted in faith and surrounded by people who truly care about its future. We have a dynamite group of teachers and an excellent leader in Father Parrott. I pray for guidance as I step into the shoes of principal.

I would welcome a meeting and tour with anyone interested in enrolling their children for the school year. Please email me at or call 651-565-4446.

I’m excited to get to work. I welcome your prayers. And, we thank you for welcoming us into your community!
