Father Gregory Parrott

Fr. Gregory Parrott hails from Gaylord, a small Minnesota town which had about 2,000 residents when he graduated from Sibley East High School in 2001. He is the youngest child fo Doug and Iris Parrott--his elder siblings being Leslie, Eric and Bryan, in that order. He has seven nephews and nieces, born of the marriages from each of his siblings--2, 2 and 3 respectively.

He first studied Physics at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities and continued those studies in his second year of college at Minnesota State University, Mankato. It was there that he first was invited to think about, and first considered, the priesthood. He entered the seminary in his third year of college and graduated from IHM Seminary at St. Mary's University, Winona, in 2005. His major seminary studies were at the Saint Paul Seminary and the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.

Ordained in 2009, Fr. Parrott was first assigned to Sacred Heart Parish in Owatonna and Holy Trinity Parish in Litomysl as a parochial vicar. He then spent his second and third years of the priesthood at Queen of Angels Parish in Austin and Our Lady of Loretto Parish in Brownsdale, while also teaching 9th-12th grade religion and being chaplain at Pacelli Catholic School in Austin.

He was first made a pastor at St. John Baptist de la Salle in Dodge Center, St. Vincent de Paul in West Concord, and St. Francis de Sales in Claremont in 2012. From there he became pastor at St. Ann in Slayton, St. Columba in Iona, and St. Mary in Lake Wilson in March 2015. He became the pastor of our parish cluster and school on September 1, 2016.
