Easy Family Fundraising Projects

Parents who send their children to St. Felix School are expected to financially support and volunteer their help with mandatory fundraising efforts. The actual cost of educating your child is not covered through tuition alone. Therefore we have created easy and fun activities for your family to do together to help keep tuition reasonable for all children attending St. Felix School. It’s also a good way to get to know the rest of the families of St. Felix.

Kemp's Give 'Em Five: Collect plastic caps from gallons of Kemp's milk and proofs of purchase from half-gallon cartons. For each cap or proof of purchase turned in, Kemps will donate 5 cents. To learn more about this program, go to www.kemps.com . Send in your caps or proof of purchases monthly.

Box Tops for Education: General Mills, Pillsbury and Yoplait products contain a redeemable logo worth 10 cents each. To learn more about this program and get a list of products, go to www.boxtopsforeducation.com. Send in your box tops monthly.

Target Take Charge of Education: If you have a Target card, call 1-800-316-6142 and designate St Felix Elementary of Wabasha, Minnesota as your school to receive 1% of your charges. Target makes school donations in March and October each year. A note to those who are uncomfortable using a charge card, you are able to write a check to cover the amount charged and turn it in at the service counter at Target to pay off your balance immediately following your purchase with your card and Saint Felix would still get the credit.

Ink Jet or Laser Print Cartridges: Save and send in your used printer cartridges to school. We earn 50 cents to $5.00 for each cartridge.

Milk Moola Points: Sponsored through Kwik Trip Stores, bags and bottles of milk with the Moola Cow can be turned in monthly for school funds to come our way.

FALL FESTIVAL
Our largest and most important school fundraiser, the fall festival really kicks off the school year by bringing all of our families together in a fun and exciting event. Every family is needed to make this such a success year after year. Its essential to have 100% participation from our families. The date for 2008-2009 school year is September 14.

MARATHON
This is a great city-wide opportunity for our students to take on an active role in sponsoring their school.  The children pass around a pledge sheet and obtain pledges to sponsor them in a marathon walk.  The school sets a goal each year that we try to reach.  Profits from this go to the school’s general operating expenses. Look for this to be on October 4.

BOOK FAIR
We offer a book fair to our families each year for one week.  It is open to the children during school hours and to families before and after Mass as well.  Profits from this go to both the school’s general needs and the library. It’s a good time to do some early Christmas shopping as this generally happens late October or early November.

SCRIP
This is a program that enables our school to make money through our regular every day purchases.  We carry a regular stock of gift certificates available at a variety of stores, restaurants, etc.  They can be purchased once a week either through completing an order form that comes home on Friday and returning it with your child Monday or there are several available on hand after Mass on Sundays and Wednesdays.  For every gift certificate purchased the school makes on average between 2 and 10 percent profit.  The profits from this fundraiser go to the school’s general operating fund. You can participate in this year round.

POP CANS
We encourage all families to save their pop cans for recycling.  We have bins on site at school to do this.  Proceeds go towards reducing tuition costs for our students.

PAPER DRIVE                                                                          Each family is asked to provide help one Saturday morning during the year to load donated newspaper onto a truck. A local farmer purchases the paper from us to use for bedding on his farm so this is a great “green” effort our school is involved in. Schedules are available in your fall family packet.

PIZZAS WITH PIZZA PETE                                                            Each child is sent home with a catalog with various products to sell. St. Felix receives 40-50% of the revenue generated. Students receive prizes based off of their sales. Pizza Pete will be during the month of October 2008.

SPAGHETTI DINNER/SILENT AUCTION                                              Take a night off cooking and join us at Slippery’s Restaurant for their infamous Raghetti Spaghetti, made famous through the Grumpy Old Men movies. Spaghetti night usually takes place in December.

CANDY BAR SALE                                                                      Just in time for Easter, purchase mint melt-aways, caramels and candy bars for your family and friends.

PLANT SALE                                                                           Perfect for all of your gardeners! Look for information in the spring.

GOLF OUTING                                                                         Find a partner and join us for our two person best shot golf tournament and silent auction. Or partake in the ball drop and win a bundle of cash. Your family can join you for the supper afterwards and enjoy hearing about the great time your team had while earning money for our school. Takes place in June.
