Greetings! I hope we don't all melt by next week. It has been hard to concentrate, but we are doing our best. The fourth grade class is doing a homemade goodie basket for the Fall Festival. If you haven't gotten your recipe in for the cookbook, please do so by September 7. The item for the basket is due to school by September 1. Thank you for our support! ~ Mrs. Wobbe

Tuesday:   Practice (finish Pg 2) - Penmanship (Pg 12) - Bring mismatched sock - Grammar Pg 2 (only add punctuation) - Spelling (Pg 3 )

Wednesday: Penmanship (Pg 13) - Social (Worksheet Pg 1 ) - Grammar Pg 3 (do an example of each kind of sentences) - Reading Pg 7 (short vowel sounds) - Spelling (Pg 4) - Math (Pg. 7, 8)                                             

Thursday: Reading (Pg 5) - Grammar (Pg 4 - rewrite paragraph) - Spelling (Pg 5 & 6 with test on Tues) - Math (Study Link 1-3) - Social (Wks Pg 2 & 11) - Science (Pr 15 #1)

Friday: NO SCHOOL

Technology: We will be keyboarding using the Mavis Beacon program and practicing for the NWEA tests by using Study Island.
Social: We will be taking a look at where the United States is located using latitude and longitude lines on a map. We will describe the Mississippi river using an acrostic format.

Grammar: We will be continuing our study of sentence structure by identifying complete and simple subjects and predicates.

Reading: We will be taking out first weekly test on Tuesday (due to the shortened weeks). Our next story will be A Walk In The Desert. We will learn how different plants and animals make the desert their home. We will be looking for the main idea and supporting statements.

Religion: We will be taking a "Trust Walk" to simulate the complete trust one has in another, just as Jesus had in His Father. We will also be discussing the meaning of the beatitudes.
Spelling: Our spelling test this week contains the various ways to spell the "long A" sound.  Spelling words are posted each week on spell city and the link for it is located under classroom links on this page. It can also be found on the Online Learning page linked to the main school web page.

Math: The unit on geometry has been challenging, but also fun. We will talk about polygons and learn how to construct a circle, hexagon, and triangle. I hope everyone remembers to bring in an old sock, as we will be using our whiteboards a lot!
