Math: We have been working on reading and writing large numbers. This week we will be reading and writing numbers smaller than zero. We will learn about decimals and the place values of decimal numbers.

Reading / Writing: (Tall Tales) We will be reading several tall tales. As we read these tall tales we will be discussing the plot and setting to analyze the story structure. We will also discuss the features of the story that make it a tall tale. This knowledge will be helpful because we will also be writing our own tall tales.

Grammar: Sentences structure. There are two main parts to a sentence the subject (who or what the sentence is about) and the predicate (the action
in the sentence).

Science: We will finish our discussion of vertebrates and invertebrates and learn how to use a dichotomous key to identify organisms.

Religion: This week is our mass. Please come join us Tuesday afternoon. We have been discussing the seasons of the church year. We will review the different seasons including ordinary time, advent, Christmas, lent, and Easter. We are currently in ordinary time which is a time to focus on Jesus Christ. We will read some of his teachings and discuss how we are called to be like Jesus. Social: We will finish our elevation maps and begin learning about different bodies of water. Some key terms we will be discussing are: rain shadow, tributary, drainage basin, climate, inlet, drought, tundra, savanna,and arid.
