Math: We will continue looking at fractions. We will be mostly working with using multiplication with fractions. More specifically we will be looking at area model with fractions, multiplication of fractions and whole numbers and multiplication of mixed numbers. Monday: No School. Reading: will get to read stories dealing with the Civil Rights Movement. Our main reading this week is a story called “Goin’ Someplace Special.” We will also be reading two short stories called “Lunch Counter Encounter” and “Through My Eyes". Monday: No School. Science: We will be looking at the different types of water on Earth. WE will be looking at the differences of the types of water and where they are located. Social: February is National Black History Month. In Social Studies this week we will be looking at influential African Americans in our nations history, a timeline of events leading up to today and each student will be doing a report based on Black History Month. Classroom Announcements: There is no school on Monday, February 20th for Presidents Day. Enjoy your three day weekend! There will be no Children’s Mass on Tuesday, February 21st.
